Kara is an award-winning educator and Texas Education Agency Recognized Teacher with an outstanding track record of improving student outcomes for at-risk student populations. She is currently a distinguished teacher in Dallas ISD. In 2017 after three years of teaching, Kara was recognized as the Teacher of the Year at a Title I elementary school in a large urban district. In 2019, the school she served was awarded the 2019 National Blue Ribbon School for Exemplary High-Performance award from the U.S. Department of Education. Kara played a large role in this process both in the classroom and behind the scenes. Kara Hoover has served on the instructional leadership team of all campuses she has taught at. In 2018, Kara was recognized as a Dallas ISD Distinguished Teacher, and she has maintained this title by consistently producing some of the district’s highest student achievement results. Kara has been an educator for nine years and has been high successful teaching in all content areas at the elementary level. For the past three years she has taken her reading and language arts talents to the secondary classroom in an Early College Program. Mrs. Hoover has consistently produced outstanding results in one of the largest urban school districts in Texas. She has seen double digit gains on STAAR assessments in Reading Language Arts and has closed the achievement gap through data driven instruction, accredited strategies and relationship building.
